Golf and the Local Rules with one exception; preferred lies (one
scorecard) on grass cut to fairway level or lower on all

1. GROUND UNDER REPAIR; PLAY PROHIBITED:
The area defined by the seedbed between the holes 3 and 4 is a
no play zone that is to be treated as
an abnormal course condition. Free relief must be taken from
interference by the no play
zone under Rule 16.1f.
2. OUT OF BOUNDS:
Out of bounds is defined by the line between the course-side
points at ground level of white stakes
and fence posts. Concrete bases supporting the out of bounds
elements are part of them and they
provide no relief under rule 16.
3. PREFERRED LIES:
When a player's ball lies in a part of the general area cut to
fairway height or less, the player may
take free relief once by placing the original ball or another
ball in and playing it from this relief

after the ball has been so moved or placed it is in play. If the
player fails to mark the position of the ball before lifting it
or moves the ball in any other manner, such as rolling it with a
club, he incurs a penalty stroke.
6) GROUND UNDER REPAIR. FORBIDDEN TO PLAY. Play is not allowed
from so defined areas (R-25) "The gardens of The Course".1. The
term landscaped areas are all areas bordered with stones or wood
or ropes or stakes and where there are drip irrigation hoses. 2.
The closed areas bounded by stakes connected by blue ribbon. The
player must lift the ball and and it is compulsory to take
relief without penalty under Rule 25.
7) ELECTRICAL PYLONS. If a ball hits any of the pylons in the
course or high electrical cable that crosses the course, the
SHOT MUST BE CANCELLED AND REPEATED WITHOUT PENALTY. NOTE: The
pylon on the hole 16 is located within the course. The towers
and poles on the old practice areas are outside the boundaries
of the course
8) DEVICE FOR MEASURING DISTANCES. Players are allowed to use
devices that measure the distance ONLY. If during a round a
player uses a distance-measuring device, which is designed to
calculate other conditions that might affect his play (such as a
gradient, or wind speed or temperature), breach of Rule 14-3,
the penalty is disqualification, whether or not, these functions

arises with the Rules in strokeplay, (including stableford) it
is recommended to play 2 balls (R 3-3) and consult with the
Committee before signing the card. Stroke-play: 2 stroke penalty

2. Roman Ruins Hole 14. The Roman village on
the 14th Hole, is considered course under repair, where play IS
PROHIBITED. Players will drop without penalty according to Rule
25-1, at the point nearest the relief where the ball lies,
without gaining distance to the flag, or in the dropping area if
this is marked.
6. TRIMMING WORK
All branches and trimming remains accumulated on the edges of
the holes will be considered T.R. and balls may be dropped

telephones are not permitted on the course, The player will be
responsible for any breach of this rule. Penalty for this
infraction will be:
1st infraction: 2 penalty shots.
6) DROPPING ZONES.
Hole 3. Ball lying on
the road (relief without penalty) or in the water hazard
(penalty relief), You can be relieved in the area marked as DZ
Hole 15. Ball lies in water hazard when there are irrigation
hoses, you can relieve with penalty in the area marked as DZ

hazard, when it is known or practically the certain that the
ball lies in. In the absence of such knowledge or safety
practice, the player must proceed under Rule 27-1.
7) BALL PLACEMENT.
A ball lying on the
fairway or any mowed area can be lifted, cleaned and replaced
without penalty within a 15cm radius, no nearer the hole. The
player may place his ball only once, it is in play when it has
been placed. If the player fails to mark the position of the
ball before lifting or the ball moves, then a penalty shot will

They are defined by the points closest to the field of fences or
reference stakes. When there is a white line, this will be what
defines the Out of Bounds.

Out of bounds: is defined as the inside line
between fence posts or stakes or white lines marking the

Fixed water pipes, sprinklers, benches, signs, distance
marker posts, litter bins, paths with asphalt, posts that mark the buggy paths. The placer may take relief from these
obstructions without penalty according to rule 24-2b, when
the ball lies in or near enough to the obstruction to affect
the swing or stance of the player´s intended stroke.
Stones in bunkers can be removed.
Ground under repair: All areas marked with blue
stakes or blue lines are ground under repair play from these
areas is prohibited.
Garden areas: garden areas with plants or
bushes with less than 2 meters high and delimited with stones or
trunks are considered ground under repair and from there the
game is not allowed.
EXCEPTION: areas with palm trees are not
considered garden areas even if they are limited with trunks.
Preferred lies: A ball lying on any part of the
course cut to fairway height or shorter may be picked, cleaned
and replaced within 15 cm. of its original position but not
nearer the hole.
New boundary fence to the right of hole no. 3
If the ball crosses the fence to the right of hole no.
3, it is considered to be out of bounds. This is defined by the points closest to the field of fences or
reference stakes. When there is a white line, this will be what
defines the Out of Bounds.

COMPULSORY RULES FOR PLAYING
Player(s) must be on the first
tee 10 minutes before the starting time.
Levante: 4h30 the maximum time for playing 18 holes. Poniente:
3h30 the maximum time for playing 18 holes.
Men play from
yellow lees, ladies and juniors from red.
When losing a
hole, player(s) must allow the group behind to overtake.
IT IS FORBIDDEN TO:
- wear spiked shoes,
- take divots
with practice swings,
- play with practice balls.
- be dressed appropriately with golf etiquette,
replace divots, repair pitch-marks on greens and rake bunkers.
THE BREACH OF THE PLAYING RULES WILL LEAD TO THE IMMEDIATE
EXPULSION OF THE COURSE BY ANYEMPLOYEE OF VILLAITANA GOLF
1– PREFERRED LIES.

are defined by white stakes whith a black spot on the top.

holes. For all other holes, they are immovable obstructions.
3 – PENALTY AREAS HOLES 11,12 Y 14.
When the ball last crossed the Edge of the red penalty area on
these holes, as a extra relief option adding ONE PENELTY STROKE,
the player may drop the original ball or another ball on the
opposite side of the penalty area:
- Reference point: The
estimated point on the opposite edge of the penalty area that is
the same distance from the hole as the estamated point where the
original ball last crosset the Edge of the red penalty area.
- Size of Relief Area Measured from Reference Point: Two club-lenghts,
but with these limits:
- Limits on Location of Relief area: - Must
not be nearer the hole than the referente point, and - May be in
any area of the course except the same penalty area, but - if
more than one area of the course is located within two club-lenght
of the referente point, the ball must come to rest in the relief
area in the same area of the course that the ball first touches
when dropped in the relief area.
4– PACE OF PLAY POLICIES.
The maximum time allotted for the completion of 18 holes at
Alenda is 4 hours and 30 minutes.
By the end of hole 3 a Group
should timing maximum of 45 min.
By the end of hole 6 a Group
should timing maximum of 1h.30 min.
By the end of hole 9 a Group
should timing maximum of 2h.15 min.
By the end of hole 12 a
Group should timing maximum of 3h min.
By the end of hole 15 a
Group should timing maximum of 3h.45 min.
By the end of hole 18
a Group should timing maximum of 4h.30 min.
If a group is “out of position”, could be penalizad.
